“I was initially a student at Kapi‘olani Community College taking general education classes. It was a great way to acclimate to Hawai‘i and learn the language and local customs. After earning my associate in arts degree, I continued my higher education at the UH Mānoa College of Social Sciences, where I majored in ethnic studies. It is a discipline that you cannot study at universities in Japan. Getting a degree in the field helped to prepare me to work in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural world. The Aloha Pathway makes transferring easy. I would tell everyone to come to the College of Social Sciences. It is a life-changing experience!”
